Thanks Peter, but that means it still requires 3 cells to be in. The question is whether the power drawn from those 3 remaining cells drops considerably thanks for this dummy battery cell.

From Quantum literature: "Many Flashes need internal batteries to operate the dedicated functions. The Energy Saver is recommended to allow those flashes to work more efficiently, prolonging the life of the alkaline batteries."
