i'm having some problems with my EOS 1N (serial #164949) and the REMOTE
SWITCH 60T3.
when I press the remote switch's button down the autofocus operates but the
SHUTTER does not release (in-focus indicator still).

Even if I set it to Manual Focus, the SHUTTER does not release.
Any ideas?

Carefully take it apart and give the second contact a slight bend. The button makes contact with the focus circuit first then continues it's travel to complete the shutter circuit. It sounds like yours is not quite making the second connection.
