I have been shooting film since I was a child, ( am 40 now ) and digital starting with the G2 a year and a half ago and the D60 starting last summer. Part of the satisfaction has been simply viewing my own pictures, but another part is being able to display them. Prior to my recent history, that meant hanging a picture on my wall and pointing it out to visitors. Now that I have the internet figured out to a greater degree than I ever have, I have created an online gallery with the help of Pekka Saarinen's Exhibit Engine.
For those who are running photo websites, you should check out the Exhibit Engine. It allows photos to be stored in multiple sizes, segregated in various galleries, sorted by the user by keyword, date of entry, etc. The program will display data regarding shooting location, exposure settings, lens used, etc. You an enter an exhibit and see all the lenses used by the images in that exhibit, then click on images for a particular lens. It is very nice, if you are seeking an information heavy picture database. My newest two pictures are taken with the Canon 100mm macro and can be found in the nature gallery. They are titled "Me and My Shadow" and "Spotlight on Yellow." Unfortunately I don't know the names of the flower in "Spotlight." If you do, drop me a line. In any case, I am proud of my photos with their faults and all, and would love to have you visit and take a peek at my work. So, enough talk, ( or type) here is the link to the front page of my website. Click gallery to enter. Thanks. www.melor.com Paul D.
