Hi guys!
I have EOS30 with Sigma 500 Super flash (supports multiple wireless
flash combination, etc). Since I am on a tight budget, and I would like
to use at least two flashes, I am asking you what could be the cheapest
way to accomplish my goal. Buying another Sigma 500 like flash is too
expensive, as it is in the range of at least 200. I was thinking of
some manually adjustable flash units (where one can set the output and
optionally zoom) which could be triggered optically, but I do not know
of any. Obviously, I would also need a flash meter and I should kiss
E-TTL goodbye.
So, what are the options for a cheap optical slave unit?
Also, I was experimenting with this flash + regular A4 paper to soften
the light. I must say that it works really well. Especially if you
bounce that already difused light from the white wall. So, no need for
costly portable softboxes, just place an A4 paper around the flash unit.
It looks strange, though. :)))
Not a lot of EOS talk, but interesting as well, I hope.
Enjoy the weekend and take great winter (or other seasons) photos!
