Even though I shoot mainly airshows and car racing, I've never been able to justify the boosters, I normally just carry a spare 2CR5 battery with me, plus if I am doing in-cockpit aerobatic shots, the last thing I need is more weight from a booster, it's bad enough holding a 5 lb camera under multiple G condition, the booster will just make it that much more difficult to hold the camera up. So, you are likely right about the fit, although one might be able to persuade the fit....
