Actually so will I.  But the 50mm would nicely take the place of my 100mm
which would behave like a 160mm, etc.
But I really have very little use for a 160-640 L IS USM.  And I like my
100mm f2.  If they'd just hurry up with that sub $2000 digital SLR with a
full frame sensor...

If they come out with an EOS 3 type body, at least 9MP, and a full frame sensor around 2k, I'll be camping overnight out in front of any store just to be first in line. I have about $10k invested in my current 35mm system and I would rather shoot film and scan than go through the whole process all over again.
