Compare to the F/2.8 version. Doesn't seem to be that huge weight difference that appeared on the 70-200 f/4. Here you are only talking a few ounces. If it much cheaper I might consider it, but I don't think it will be... These are the specs from http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ :)
