Thanks.  My only comment is that if you are using a digital SLR like the
10D, where the sensor is smaller in size than a 35mm negative you are using
the central area of a lens often referred to as the "sweet spot."
Therefore,  you images should be sharper still.  An exmaple are lenses with
the DG designation are super sharp in the center and soft on the edges when
used with film cameras since they were designed specifically for digital
SLRs which do not use the entire lens area/coverage as a film camera. The
sharpening effect in each camera varies.  I have not used the on-board
sharpening with a 10D, let alone a 10D, so I can't comment.
