Remember though that, apart from AF, the main progress & attention is 
in the image-recording qualities, equivalent to a new film, not in 
the camera or optics itself (which, in our generation, has been on 
the end of its development/perfection anyway....a camera from 1960 
makes hardly any better pix than one of today, only much easier 
(AF/IS/flash/etc).

To me, AF is hardly relevant right now....my DCS-1 from 1994 (based 
on 1n) probably still does heaps better than the 10D of 
today....;))))
(and only a full-frame 1Ds is tempting....can't wait to see the life-
cycles decline even further, for dropping second-hand prices....;))
