Hi Hugo,

Sure, a lot of lenses could be interesting if their optical quality was good
enough. The problem is that most third party lenses and even many of
Canon's own lenses when built to a the lowest common denominator consumer
price point, to be honest suck. If all you are going to do is get one hour
4x6 prints made at the local minilab you don't need a SLR at all, go buy a
nice point and shoot.

As far as zooms go there is NOTHING available for the EF mount that performs
optically, mechanically or long term reliably like Canon's fast "L" zooms,
not from ANY manufacture of EF mount lenses. How are they behind?

If you want an inexpensive, inexpensively made zoom lens with moderate image
quality Canon makes them too. One of them even has IS technology, NOBODY
offers a standard zoom with IS except Canon. How are they behind?

Are you saying that because Canon doesn't make an inexpensive slow zoom that
starts at 24mm and goes past 105mm they are somehow behind? That's pretty
lame, try walking closer to your subject or backing up two steps. Are you
looking for useless "features" or performance? I think you all know where I
stand on this issue.

Cheers/Chip
