Because Engergizer (remember when they were called
"Eveready?") is spending a bundle on an advertizing
campaign to convince buyers that the  e@ batteries are
super duper better.

The truth is that they are better, and will last
longer, but no where near twice as long.  Probably
somewhere near 10 or 15% longer.   So buy two of the
cheap batteries.

I seem to recall that some years ago Consumer Reports
did a test of alkaline batteries.  They concluded that
while some brands did perform slighly better than
others, the difference was so small that the best plan
was to buy whatever was on sale. I suspect the same is
true of Lithiums.  Unless it's medical grade lithium <g>.
