I don't think I agree with you. There are a several differences between the
10D and the 300D, quite like the differences between the eos 30 and 300
film cameras. The 10D has custom functions (300D does not) and with the
300D you can't choose metering (evaluative, center, partial) and AF-mode
(one shot versus AI servo) yourself, the camera selects them depending on
the shooting mode.
On the other hand, image sensor and shutter mechanisme are supposed to be
the same, so picture quality should be equal.
