Hi Jerome, The 70-200/4 is an exceptional lens for the price and image quality is excellent. It is also a faster focussing lens than the 75-300 so would be the pick for sports/childrens activities etc. It also works very well with the 1.4x convertor if you wanted to add one later to extend your focal range. I've used it for editorial magazine work in this configuration and the image quality and AF operation is more than adequate.
