Spoof eBay messages are no news, but today I have received one that takes the "spoof art" to new heights. Not only all return paths in the message source were ebay addresses but the link included in the message was *exactly* the same that is presented as genuine in eBay's help pages on this subject. However I've sent the message to eBay and they confirmed it was fake. The only indications that this message was a spoof was that it was sent to an email address that is not the one I have registered in eBay. Also, when I changed the message from HTML format to plain text, the text in the message changed radically. We can no longer use the links on these messages as an indication, since it seems that there is a way of duplicating genuine links. Sorry to go OT but I think this interests the member of this list.
