Bob, Others who have used the FS2710 also had this, which was caused by a missing ASPI driver. You can download this from the Adaptec web-site. Check the Mailing list archives for ASPI, for further information. Although they were using a SCSI card, and not a SCSI-USB adaptor,hopefully this will cure your problems.
