Registering the work with U.S. PTO merely makes it easier to prove ownership and enforce copyrights. If I am wrong about this, I would appreciate being corrected, as I am not an intellectual property lawyer (I only play one on TV).
Correct, but also registering the work means the owner can get a LOT more $$$ when he (she) sues and wins. Triple, I think.
