Alex,

Prague is a beautifull city. There are many locations depending on what you want
see/take pictures of. During the day, you can move around the "old centre" and
Hradacani (or whatever they are called) and you can take pictures of people. After
dark, you can get good pictures inside bars (local ones). I would suggest wide angle
for that and you can take nice pictures of performers on the famous bridge as well
(also before and after dark). You can also get good pictures of the city during the
night from various locations. If you walk up to the castle, there are many photo
oportunities there (beautiful sunsets there), but also great panoramas during the day.

I know that doesn't help much, but when you'll be there, you can move around (on foot)
and explore during the day and try to visualize how it would look like during the
night.

At this time of year, there will be a lot of lights glowing and lots of burners
(heaters) where the pubs/bars are.

Most of all, enjoy your time there.

Regards,
  Miha.
ps: get a turist map and go from there. :) -- that's what I usually do.
