Hi Aubrey Nothing beats the 1Ds in digital quality, unless the MF digital back, but the 1D Mark II has some true qualities 1. Is cheaper 2. Is much quicker and has bigger buffer 3. Has a battery who last more than 1.000 pictures 4. Has a digital processor much, much quicker So, it depends on what you wish shoot with your camera. If sports, pj or fashion it's the best. I shoot mainly landscape, architectural and trip pictures so the 1Ds is unbeatable if you don't mind weight, size, and...price. Regards Felix PS.
