Oh really. Well my 10d with it's built in flash does a hell of a job of filling in shadows, especially on faces. I've even used it for fill on birds at 100 feet. Without a built in flash, you're stuck having to lug along a large external flash, and of course you have to pause to attach it, and of course you have this huge thing on top of the camera.
