I'm so happy with my Kenko Pro 300 1.4X that I had to show you guys what it can do. I managed to shoot a heron family today from about 300 yards, through the trees, and got the shot at the bottom of this page. Manually focused at ISO 800, 10D. I could not have got this shot without the extender as it is cropped a bit as it is...
The family is at the bottom, the second shot from the bottom is also with the 1.4X. All the others are with the 100-400 only. Thanks Tom! http://jimdavis.oberro.com/galleries/new_stuff2/new_stuff_1.html Unfortunately, the bird viewing station does not allow me to get any closer, and I couldn't get a better angle to not have to shoot through some trees, but I'm quite pleased to have got this image. I didn't even know they had babies already! -- Need a brighter headlight the safe way?
