Hello All,

Okay, I am now looking at a DSLR to reduce costs. I currently have a
Minolta 5400, but by the calculations I have done (and had a friend check),
if I can get away with a digital, it would be cost effective (btw, I never
get prints). Kind of scary. So, portraiture will stick to film, but other
things, right camera for the job and all.

I currently am using a EOS 3 for action shooting. I am interested in
primarily racing for this DSLR. What is the general opinion her for action
photography (needs a clean 8x10, 16x20 would be nice)? I am looking at a 10D
or 1D Mark II or something in another system possibly. Sequential shots are
nice, but more than 4 frames are probably not that needed. I do however need
fast autofocus. That is a big one. I have heard massive complaints in the
past on the 10D AF. For the 1D Mark II, I would probably have to wait an
extra month or two, and the price difference would lead to continued lens
rentals.

Subjects:
1. Sprints
2. Midgets
3. Karting
4. Drag Racing
5. Unknown as of yet.

Any input would be useful.
