My Mark II should be here soon, and it's time to sell the 1D.

So, naturally, the on-off switch on the vertical grip has just decided
to give up the ghost.

It just flat out broke off. At least it was in the ON position. I've
been using it this way with no problem.

Before I send this off to be fixed, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows
what this repair might cost?

I also thought I'd offer the camera to the list as-is first.

Other than the broken switch, the camera is in excellent condition, with
just the signs of normal wear on the paint. It is Firmware V1.4, and
includes the camera, battery, charger, DC Coupler (AC adapter), firewire
cable, and a copy of the Canon software and docs on a CD.

If you are interested in purchasing, please respond off the list with
your offer. You will find me well rated at photo.net and *bay, and I
will offer a limited guarantee.
