I can not, nor will not speak well of false advertising by Sigma, nor when I've seen NEW equipment literally fall apart. You didn't have any problems, and that's great. But, of course, you're not the only user of Sigma. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------ Fred, I own 2 Sigma lenses. The 70-200mm F2.8 EX HSM. Outstanding lens, no issues with quality. I also have the 105mm F2.8 EX macro. Optically outstanding, solid, but I did have a focus problem that was attributed to a worn AF belt inside the lens. This was fixed free of charge by Sigma. So add me to the list of satisfied Sigma users. My son uses the 75-300 F4-5.6 DL zoom and has had no problems in the years he has been using this lens. Granted it is not the same as the EX in terms of construction but here too no problem. I think people that have problems often voice their complaints. They are the ones that are the squeaky wheel looking for grease. People have a tendency to remember the bad. Those who are satisfied with their product are typically quiet and say nothing. Case in point, I know some on this list use (or used to use) Bronica and have never posted how great they are. Yet several pro photog friends I know absolutely HATE Bronica calling them the most unreliable camera ever made (except for maybe the Kowa 66). So who would you remember?
