Labs I work with continually give me much darker portraits (that's about 90%
of my prints).
Also, most professionally taken pictures of my kids come out to be much darker
than the true skin tone.
Any suggestions on what magic words to use to get the lab to print correct skin tones.
(I have tried writing "lighter prints" on my order).

Hi Sarbjit,
You can try taking a picture of a 18% gray card as your first frame (or last frame depending on how your camera handles the film) and tell the lab that to set their color adjustments on that and to do no other color adjustment for the rest of the roll. Or just tell them to no color adjustment at all. I often take in digital shots to labs that are ready to print and I tell them to make no adjustments and that is what I get.
Good luck, RH
