IrfanView has three modes for opening Canon CRW-files. One of that modes is extracting the JPG-image. When you want conversion of the RAW-images, you have to install the CRW-RAW-plug-in
You have to make your choice in Options > Properties > PlugIns. Try all the alternatives and make your choice!!!
