FWIW, most of your 85mm lenses and 50mm are basically Zeiss Planar copies, even the 
Canon lenses and Ls too. Depending on how well the manufacturer copied the design the 
lens can be sharp. Some are better than others but you would be hard pressed to tell 
the difference. One of the best made was the old Konica Hexanon 85mm F1.8. A superb 
optic even Leicaphiles noted as being excellent.
Take a look at the designs of your 50 and 85 and even 100mm lenses and you will see 
what I mean. BTW, the 50mm on the old Nikon SLRs in the 60s was a Sonnar design.
