As other people said, the EXIF will give you the type of lens you used, (16 to 35) and the focal length it was used at (28mm). Remember however that the 35mm film equivalent focal length is what the EXIF gives you times x1.6. Marc, since you did the exif reading yourself, i guess you could multiply the exif f.length by 1.6 before you display that ?
