I tend to strike a balance between B&H and my local dealers. If I feel that
I need to handle or test equipment, I go to my dealer, try it on for size,
so to speak, and buy it. Often, they will match B&H's price, if they don't,
they do give me a break. I consider the difference, if any, between B&H and
North County Camera a fee for actually being able to try something before I
buy it.
I also use NCC as a sort of 7-11 or Circle K of photography. If I run short
of paper, ink, need a filter, NOW, I can run down there and buy what I need,
without waiting for it. NCC has become very successful filling a very large
niche.
