Yes, but small aperture differences are hardly significant through the
range of FLs. If you had to shoot at 5.6 at all FLs, the difference
would hardly be noticeable. If you're into large apertures and
shooting wide open and need every third stop you can get, maybe you
should be thinking about another lens.

I like my 28-135 because of its good zoom range, sharpness, compact
size and light weight. I'm pretty sure at 105mm it's f5.6 or close
enough.

Ok, I checked. It goes to f5.6 around 80mm.
