Hello all.
I'm still introducing myself to my new 10D and loving it! I just purchased a Canon 50mm f/1.4 EF lens off eBay to use as a portrait lens. The lens looks in excellent shape, but when I shake it gently (off camera), it "rattles". Is it normal? It is worse at the infinity focus point and tightens up when I turn the focus ring to it's closest focusing point.
Nope, it shouldn't rattle and focusing should be smooth all the way. Sounds like something is loose. I'd have the lens looked at and ask the seller for either a rebate towards a repair, or a return.
