Good, I was wondering about this myself on all the reply postings, as the
"focus limiter" switch makes more sense on longer focal length lenses, my
100-400 has it but none of the other EF short zoom lenses I own or owned
(28-135, 20-35, or 17-40).

On that note, is this "focus limiter" an EF only feature?  i.e. I wonder if
it is patented?  (like the Nikon flash system that appeared to have had a
strangle hold of being able to use flash to subject distance as one the
parameters to perform so well)
