GPIB is still a massive widely used protocol in the lab industry, I
doubt you can find as many slot-types for that as any other....the
most obvious one being PCI.
While even today you can find at least half a dozen mainboard
suppliers with one or more legacy ISA-slot on it....industrial
'legacy' applications & equipment simply demand that.
(and no, surprisingly those boards are not even more expensive than
mainstream PCI-boards....you can find a (by now probably not
complete) list on my homepage:

Also, if you ever want to indulge yourselfs in second-hand digital
film-printers (or even more fancy, drum scanners), you hardly have a
choice either....most from the last decade are GPIB.

http://www.leafstuff.com....;))

Almost a spin-off from the Leafscan mailinglist btw, plenty support
therefor (plus archived expertise).

Besides, which scanner comes with a Rodenstock flat-field repro-
lens?....;))

Also rest assured that no burglar will ever steal this
scanner....40kg has it advantages too....:))
