If you shoot using the fine JPG setting, the card reports space for 483
images. Shooting in RAW mode (with no imbedded JPG) will yield about 148
images.
You got gypped. :-) I assume you are also using a 20D. I get 107 RAW
images reported available on a reformatted 1Gb card on my 20D, with
no JPGs. Cards from different manufacturers will show different
capacities, but only in a fairly narrow range.
My 10D RAW files are about 6-7 MB.
I only have 512 MB cards, but each one holds about 75 RAW images.
Therefore a 1 GB card should hold about 150.
A 2 GB card should hold about 300.
Am I missing something?
Yep. The part of the discussion that says that this is about a 20D.
