I wonder if the authors using these acronyms could enlighten those of us who are not so inclined as to their meaning...
Doing a google search, I found a reference (finally) to Canon's Europe site listing "DPP" (Digital Photo Professional) as available to EOS-1D and 1Ds owners only (10Ders are poor relations I guess). That was on google's 2nd page of results.
DPP comes with the 20D as well as 1D/1Ds. I'm not sure about the 10D, I assume not from what people have said, and you have to use the EOS Viewer utility instead.
I wasn't as lucky with "ACR" - 7 pages later, still nothing that resembles a tool for digital photographers.
Adobe Camera Raw - originally this was a plugin for Photoshop, but is now included with Photoshop CS. Many people feel ACR is a better convertor than DPP (interestingly, ACR uses the open source dcraw code to read the RAW files - this code is also used within various other bits of commercial software such as IrfanView, Bibble, BreezeBrowser etc.)
There are Windows and Mac versions of this dcraw utility available for those that are interested: http://www.insflug.org/raw/
Hope this helps!
