It would be the first camera to have those two functions separated
AFAIK....
Or: why add another air/glass(/air) barrier if you can avoid it....
Also, at the Mamiya stand on the PhotoKina, I worked my way up on the
foodchain, and after 3 days managed to speak to the Japanese chief
engineer (all European Mamiya representatives said I wouldn't
succeeded to get to speak to him....ha!), and in the end I think he
understood what I wanted....not just removing the AA/IR filter, but
also replacing it with an IR-pass filter....
Though on the other hand, don't be surprised if that IR-pass filter
will never make it into OEM production, for cultural/mondesty
reasons....the Japanese wanting to avoid any hint to the Sony night-
shot 'see-through-textile' debacle....
Heard this potential argument from an European EOS-representative,
when discussing the difference between 1D (separare filter, can be
removed) and 1Ds (sandwiched to the sensor, removal impossible).
