Just recieved my Zenitar f/2.8 from ebay (it is f/2.8

It has an EOS mount and I gotta figure out the
metering bias with this one with my 7E.
However, there are a few specks (of dust perhaps) and
between the elements a small piece of - get this - a
straw ! I am considering simply opening it up and
cleaning it - rather than returning it. Anyone done
that before or any advice ?
