Indeed, when the light is behind the (fairly recessed) lens, there's no 
problem of flare at all, but if you use some Off-camera (or off-lens in 
your MR14 case :-) you have to be careful not to shine light into the lens 
or it will flare quite bad.
I also find that the MP-E has quite some working distance for the 
magnification. I've tried many other methods to get 'there' and sometimes 
I had to be happy with a a couple of cm  (FD macrophoto 35/2.8 on bellow + 
extension for example)

BTW, Cotty, any URL where to see your MP-E images? Always curious about 
macrophotography buddies :-)
