I have been following this thread and while doing this I found some DIY explanation of how to build a panoramic head on Eric Krause web site http://www.erik-krause.de/ on frame "Panorama Head Tripoid". This seems quite simillar to the Kiwi and quickpan devices that Paul Moortgat pointed at <http://www.kaidan.com/, This panoramic head with a stiching software and some procedure to browse the 360DG without catching the tripoid head might do it, what do you think?
