True with one exception - The 400/5.6 (APO Macro) HSM I have needed to go back to Japan to be updated to work with a 10D - there was no charge, but the process took about 6 weeks.


The 400/5.6 HSM was, I believe, their first HSM lens and the only one not also branded "EX". The 70-200/2.8 and all subsequent HSM lenses have all worked on the most current Canon bodies.
