In the UK, Nikon still have a rebate on the D70. As the street price is about the same as the 300D, it is actually cheaper. This makes me think that there will be two new entry models shortly one each from Canon and Nikon. Perhaps Canon are waiting to see what the new Nikon specification and price is. It's a bit late to redesign their new offering now, 'though, but I cannot see how the 300D replacement can be crippled the way that the 300D was.
