I recently bought a Canon Cybershot S410 Elph 4.1mp point and shoot digital
camera to take to Brazil since I don't want to risk my $1500 20D.

I'm amazingly surprised at how fast it is!  It can only do ISO 400, but with
a f/2.8-4.9 lens and 35-105mm (35mm equiv, I think) zoom, it's pretty nice!
The shutter lag is reasonable... but then again, I haven't tried any sports
with it yet or any situations where pre-focus wasn't attained first.  I got
it through Dell, for around $265 USD.

The flash is definitely not a Speedlite... so if you use it, get used to
harsh shadows, red eye, and bright white reflections from white surfaces.
