In a way this isn't that bad, since it would still allow aftermarket
solutions for deeper IR....and with those at US$350, I doubt Canon
would be any cheaper (anyone have the side-by-side Japanese price,
sticker/sticker or market/market?)
Would be a shame if the aftermarket option gets lost, unless
significant numbers of factory conversions are sold....otherwise the
chance of ending up with a used one relatively cheap is too small....
Thesis: Canon won't sell them outside Japan, simply to limit their
hassle/responsability with possible repair, warranty and even
instruction/help-desk....from that text it doesn't sound like the
most easy & ergonomic feature....8-))
Let's wait until the feature is perfectionized in the 1Dsa....:))
(the fact that they *only* mentioned & showed astroscopic images
didn't and doesn't lower my suspicion either....this is stuff for
gear-freaks, not so much for artists....;))
