If a 50 isn't difficult to design, neither is a 60.  It seems difficult 
or impossible to design a true macro lens with focusing down to 1:2 or 
1:1 and a very flat field (which most macro lenses claim) and make them 
much faster than f/2.8.  Most 50 macros were no faster than f/3.5 for 
decades.
