Hi Brian, When I first got my EOS 20D, I had a similar problem with the multi-way Controller (MWC). At about the same time, I also got a Sony programmable Infrared remote control (RM-VL1000) with a similar MWC. http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=rm-vl1000 I figured out that my error was trying to use the MWC like a joystick, expecting the switch to twist or roll around like a ballhead on a tripod. Instead, I had better success when using the MWC like a computer trackpad. In other words, I put my thumb the controller, and SLIDE the MWC in the direction that I want. The action is similar to moving pieces around on a checkerboard. Would this work for you too?
