Before you receive very specific tips&tricks:
Is that 1Ds or 1D2/1D-II....;))
Even if you wisely download the manual beforehand, most important
feature is probably how to put it back to default/factory settings,
before even taking the first shot....:))
(okay, to be absolutely sure, take first shot with the settings it
had, so you can rule out any problems created by putting it back to
default....;))
Also relevant might be the software-version (might even be apply to
the (version of the) manual?)
