Well I 'll tell what _I_ want is more manual control on the ultra-compacts. Now i can't think of a technical reason for not building them that way. Can you? I've been shooting with a G2 next to my SLRs for a few years, which is about the same size as the S2 under discussion, and i agree, the medium size compacts don't have much size advantage. But what I do like about the G2 is the amount of photographer control. I pretty much feel like for extreme lens needs I'm ok with my SLR stuff. What I'd really like is an SD 500, with it's tiny size, 7MP for cropping, but with more manual control - at least Av, Tv and M plus MF. This would give me a camera to put in a pocket, either to have one less strap around my neck "on safari" or to take as my only camera to social events where I don't want to look like a "photographer."
