(Sorry for the spam-like title, but I couldn't resist :o)

Just a short anecdote to share...
The other weekend I was taking some outdoor macro images lighted with
flash. I started using one 550EX off-camera controlled with a ST-E2 on a
10D. At a certain moment I introduced a second 550EX (to use as backlight)
and I enabled the ratio control on the ST-E2. Next shot... no flash...
again.. nopes. Took one 550 as master and the wireless comm was working
OK. Changed batteries on the ST-E2... nada. Gave up.

A while after (already indoors) I took the pieces out of the bag again and
then I saw the problem... by mistake I changed the channel on the ST-E2
and I didn't notice while outdoors because the backlight of the panel is
barely visible under sunlight (it was a bright, overcast day.. will sound
familiar to my UK-based friends :-) ).

I normally ignore the channel as it's a feature I never use... but next
time I'll know! :-) (Luckly it didn't happen during an important event.)

-regards,

Gerard.
