Isn't photography suppose to be an art rather than an exact science?

Given a similar circumstance, I would shoot more vertical too not because
it is posed/spontanious/formal/informal, but only because if the
composition of an image look better.

Having only dabbled in wedding photos a few times but have seen planty over
the years, I sense majority of the people like an image because they like
the composition, not if it's landscape or protrait format.
