First of all, We will hike just a part of the JMT (Bishop to Whitney
Portal/Lone Pine). But there ist still a lot of luggage to be carried. So I
try to limit it as much as possible. BTW: I will take with my a little
carbon fiber tripod (Gitzo), my EOS 1V, 2.8/70-200 IS and 2.8/16-35.
And lots of film, of course :-)

I thought to have a radio or IR remote would be a fine idea, but now I
think I will stick with my Timer Remote TC-80N3. It is small and light,
but maybe less comfortable.

Thanks to all for the valuable input. I�m still thinking about theses third
party radio controls...
