If your microdrive was used before in a MP3 player i.e there is a great risk that it is a version with a factory manipulated partioning. Unitil last year there were many photographers using a Hitachi 4Gb Microdrive from a Muvo/Murv MP3-player. Suddenly some of them reported problems. Beginning with the series with code 44C they didn't work. Hitachi added some (hidden) partitions that blocked use in a digital camera.
First: check if there is type information. If there is a code on the drive or the box, starting with "N2" . If the code ends with something 'higher' than 44B (example: 44C) the partitioning is changed, to make it unusable in your camera. Omy with a computer with Mac OS or Linux, this seemed to be correctable: Google with "hitachi partition 4Gb linux camera" Cheers, Marius * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
